Hula Hooping is a hoot!

Paul picked up a hula hoop while Henry was downing his first serving of lasagna (huge hit for this kid).  He thought it was a riot (rightfully so).

What is it about a baby laugh that's so contagious?!?!?

Damaged Goods.

My sweet baby is bumped, bruised, scratched, and generally beat up.  And he has no one to blame but himself.

Here, you can see the bruise over his right eye.  He obtained this while attempting to pull himself up and peek into the dryer.  Unfortunately, his arm gave out and he did a face plant directly into the metal.  Poor, sweet baby.  This is also a good shot of all his scratches.  When he does not get his way and he's a little sleepy, he tends to scratch and rub his face while crying.  Sometimes this results in temporary wounds that stick around for a day or two.

Here, you can see that his bottom lip is busted.  Yet again, an arm gave out (while crawling).  Hard wood floors - 1, Henry - 0.

And here, it's kind of hard to see on film (not as difficult in person), but he has a pretty impressive sized bump/bruise over his right eye.  Wanna guess how? Yup, you guessed it! Another encounter with the wood floors! Hard wood floors - 2, Henry - 0.

Maybe if I had a child that sat still for more than 2 seconds, he wouldn't be so beat up.  But then again, our lives wouldn't be so entertaining! Love this kid.  Can you tell he spends a ton of his time chasing poor Oscar around (these were taken over a 2 minutes span - Oscar couldn't find a spot to park for more than about 15 seconds)?

So Henry's had a pretty solid attachment to stuffed animals in general, but has recently become fixated on "teacher," the zebra from the Llama Llama books. Whenever "teacher" comes into sight, he starts flailing all his limbs and grunting until we hand him over.  He's also a necessity at naptime/bedtime.  Only a baby could fall asleep like this.

And Henry came to see me at lunchtime today! Sure makes this Mama happy.  He is most decidedly a fan of Potbelly chicken salad.  No surprise there - Yum!

Summer Fun

Henry has become a regular on our neighborhood swings.  He absolutely loves them!

In fact, tonight, when we went on a walk after I got home from work, he actually cried when we walked past them and he didn't get to swing.  We tried to explain that they were wet from the rain, but such logic did not go over well with the 9 month old.

Henry has also discovered the joy of the private baby pool.  Mama loves it as well, because there's no need for those overpriced swim diapers!

Sweet Daddy teaching Henry about leaves on the trees.

Sweet baby on his rocking horse (or cow - my Dad is convinced this thing looks like a cow and not a horse).  This child loves anything that moves.  I'm worried we may have an adrenaline junkie on our hands.... :)

Up in the air.

If only I had Henry's sweet squeals and giggles to add as soundtrack to these photos.  Love!

The Excellence, Playa Mujeres!

This is a few weeks delayed, but I finally got all our pictures downloaded from our adults only trip to Mexico! We had such a great time with our friends, and it was a great decision to get away for a few days.

The resort was gorgeous!

Our room, the view, and the amenities were gorgeous as well.

Some animal friends we made on our trip:

And an example of some creepy/bizarre trinket that was left in our room each evening with our fresh fruit/chocolate.  We still have no idea why molestache-yielding, sombrero-wearing trinkets were left with us each night....

The boys were complete and total entertainment for us ladies.  Lots of laughter over 5 days, mostly because of them.

The photo below requires a little explanation. On our last day, our group was sitting in the hot tub/pool, and we noticed the one life guard on duty was spending a LOT of time working out in his little hut with his back to the ocean.  Not an ideal candidate for a rescuer.  The two Pauls, after a significant amount of peer pressure from the group, decided to see if the lifeguard would allow them to show off for their ladies up in his hut.  I have a video, but will spare sharing it with the world.  The best part was after our guys got done, the lifeguard, who had already been doing pull-ups and push-ups for an hour (no exaggeration), immediately jumped up and did another 20 pull-ups after our men. Just to show them up.  Our guys took it in stride, and still managed to keep some pride as they came back to join us. L.O.V.E. I.T.

Some of my dearest friends.

And my favorite guy of all time....

I mean, seriously, am I one lucky lady, or what? :)
