We finally took Henry to see Aunt Gracie in Lexington! What a good little traveler we have - he was perfectly behaved on the flights!
He only started to get a little fussy when we got trapped in Baltimore till after midnight. We did our best to get him comfortable in his stroller, but the problem with having a gigantic child is that they have a more difficult time getting comfortable in confined spaces.
Our big outing of the trip was a visit to Woodford Reserve. Absolutely gorgeous. Whether you're a bourbon drinker or not, everyone should make a trip out there, if only to see the surrounding horse farms.
Henry did his best to entertain himself.
If I'm going to bring my baby to Kentucky, might as well put him in seersucker, have him sporting a UK bib, and perched on a bourbon barrel, right?
I would absolutely love to get one of these barrels in my backyard to use as a flower pot. Haven't yet figured out how to get a bourbon barrel home to Texas in an economical fashion.....
We also took lunch to Henry Clay's home and ate on the lawn. Henry found it to be a very exciting outing....

And this Mama/wife must brag. Right before leaving for Lexington on Thursday, I found out I would need to leave straight from Lexington on Sunday and head to LA for the week for work. This meant Paul and Henry would have to get themselves back to Dallas from Kentucky on their own. For anyone who's flown with a baby, you know that the hardest part of flying is maneuvering all the STUFF through the airport. Flying with a car seat, luggage, stroller, pack and play, toys, diapers, baby food, formula, blankets, your stuff, etc. can be a very fine balancing act. And my husband and baby did this successfully and in one piece. AND I got photos throughout their trip!
